More unicorns! / Space sleep

I now have two pieces of unicorn-themed clothing in my wardrobe (see my unicorn sweater here) and I'm hoping to build up a small collection! Lashes of London sent me this unicorn patterned dress to try out, and I have to say that it's pretty incredible! Unfortunately for me, it's more of a summer dress as it has a gorgeous open-back thing going on, but it's now a bit too cold to wear it backless! So I paired it with this new cropped purple blouse from Romwe, added some heart-shaped collar clips, and got a whole pastel-themed thing going on.

I've mentioned before how much I admire Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield. If you haven't done so already, go and check out his videos about how everyday things are done in microgravity. They're endlessly fascinating. From brushing your teeth, to crying, to eating, to going to the toilet and cutting your hair, everything has to be done a little differently when the physics of your world change, and you have to adapt to a new kind of world. In this video, Chris Hadfield shows how you sleep in space - and what a bedroom looks like on board the International Space Station.

How are you all today?

  1. This. outfit. is. perfection! I love Lashes of London, and the print on this is divine. And I loooove how you paired it with that beautiful lavender blouse! Is it cropped? It's such a wonderful effect, especially with the collar clips and candy floss pink wig. :) Beautiful as always!

  2. Chris Hadfield is the best! I watched pretty much all of his videos a few weeks ago when I was supposed to be writing my final papers. He just seems like such a cool guy.
Also, this outfit. Your unicorn dress is the best thing ever! I love how you've layered the sheer purple top over it.

    1. You need a lot of materials... but it is fairly easy to do! I have a DIY for clay ones here: http://www.pineneedlecollective.com/2012/11/diy-sweatercollar-clips-tutorial.html but these clips were made out of resin. that was the only thing I changed :)

  24. The day before this post I found out about how astronauts must also sleep with their head near ventilation or a fan or something, otherwise without the gravity the CO2 they exhale will not rise from their faces as normal and can form a sort of CO2 bubble, suffocating them; space is so crazy.

Also that top is really cool

    1. Wowwwwwww! That is mental. I hadn't thought about how gases were affected by microgravity.
